Receipt for $3.00, issued to Mr. E. Thomas by William G. Taylor, Veterinary Surgeon, on September 1st, 1862. The receipt is marked as paid in full, and states that it was for "professional attendance and Medicine for Horse".
Rectangular white paper with black printed letterhead, as well as handwritten text in black ink. O top half. In upper left corner are small b/w sketches of three animals: a horse, a cow and a bull. Beside this, in upper right corner is printed: "Guelph, C.W. [Canada West]" and the date "Sept. 1st, 1862".
Lower part of receipt contains both black print and handwritten text:
"To Professional attendance and Medicine for Horse, Cow, Sheep, Pig, Dog, &c. $3.00 (lines have been drawn over all animal names except for "Horse"). Below is a handwritten note: "Received in full of all demands to date. / W.G. Taylor, Guelph, Ont."
