Description Postcard Receipt; cream-coloured rectangular cardboard. On front is printed in black at top: "CANADA POST CARD / THE ADDRESS TO BE WRITTEN ON THIS SIDE." Address is typed in blue lettering: "Messrs. A & J Meicklejohn, Harriston, Ont." In upper right corner is a one cent blue stamp of Queen Victoria. Postmarked Guelph Aug. 11, 1900.
On reverse, in handwritten black ink, card is dated "Guelph, Ont. 11 Aug, 1900" and addressed to Messrs. A & J. Meicklejohn, Harriston, Ont." In black printed text: Dear Sir: Your valued favour of yesterday duly to hand, containing books for $1.04 in settlement as stated, for which receive our thanks. It has been duly passed to your credit. Awaiting your further commands, we are Yours truly, A.R. Woodyatt & Co."
