Description Small envelope, cream coloured paper. The envelope has been slit open at the right side. Hand written on front in black ink: "Mr Mrs McCrae / Care Thos McCrae Esqs[?] / Janefield Guelph / Canada America". Black circular stamp upper right, writing inside: "B CREWE AP 14 70". Red stamp upper right corner: Double-line border with "A" in upper left hand corner, "C" in opposite corner, letters reversed in bottom corners. Oval shaped banner with "THREE PENCE POSTAGE" inside of it. In the middle there is a portrait of a woman (the queen[?]) in profile. The stamp has been marked with black ink. The black ink forms a square shape with "96" in the middle. There are three thick black lines below the number, and two on each other side. On the back there is a raised flower pattern at the peak of the portion of the envelope that is folded down. There is a circular stamp in black ink to the right of this design which says "GUELPH ONT" within the border top and bottom, "PM AF 28 70" in the middle.
