Receipt from Dominion Bank , off-white paper with letters in black italic print. On the left side is a yellow two cent "CANADA/ INLAND REVENUE / WAR TAX" stamp which bears the image of King George V. In the upper right corner is date: "Guelph, Ont. July 10, 1918. / No. 132." In the upper left corner is amount: "$12.86".
Inscription on receipt: "At sight please pay to the order of the Dominion Bank / Twelve 86/100 Dollars. / Value received and charged to account of The Kloepfer Coal Co. Per. F. Kloepfer." To the left of Kloepfer's signature is "To Jas. Thain, Palmerston, Ont.
The back has been stamped in blue: "NO RESPONSE TO NOTICE / JULY 18, 1918. " Stamped in green on back: "PAY ANY BANK ON ORDER FOR THE DOMINION BANK, GUELPH, ONT. / A.R. GIBSON, MANAGER."
