Description Invoice; rectangular off-white paper with top half being the company letterhead printed in black of various font/type styles. Under the letterhead, a double black printed line is drawn horizontally across the invoice, under which is written in ink the balance due.
Invoice is issued to Mr. Edward Thomas, Eden Mills and is dated June 14, 1869. "To Mercury from May 7/69 to July 7/70 _____$1.50 paid McLagan & Innes."
Letterhead:
"THE EVENING AND WEEKLY EDITIONS OF THE GUELPH MERCURY HAVE AN UNRIVALLED CIRCULATION. THE MERCURY STEAM PRINTING HOUSE, Macdonnell St. Guelph/ To McLAGAN & INNES, DR. GENERAL BOOK AND JOB PRINTERS. PRINTING IN ALL COLOURS EXECUTED ON SHORT NOTICE AT LOW RATES, AND IN FIRST-CLASS STYLE."
In a square in the upper left corner is printed: "THE EVENING MERCURY, Containing the Latest News by Telegraph and otherwise,, from all parts of the World, is published every lawful afternoon, at $4 per annum; delivered in the Town, TEN CENTS a week.
THE WEEKLY MERCURY is published every Thursday morning at $1.50 per annum. RATES OF ADVERTISING MODERATE."
