Description Large, thick cardboard blue and maroon scrapbook. The front and back covers are blue with maroons triangular tips and spine. There are metal grommets and details all over the outside. There are two large spikes coming out of the spine that attach all the pages together (spine is open). At the bottom of the spine in silver printing "Made in Canada/Biltrite/Patented 1955" On the inside cover there are three metal hinges. Sticker at the bottom "Luckett's/Sterling/ Line/Made in Canada/No. 171032" A postcard has been glued to the cover. It is a festive image with a bowl of fruit and wrapped packages. The Title page reads: "City Clerk's Office, Guelph, Ontario" "Scrap Book: Year 1970 to" there are two red seals at the bottom (one on left is actually on top of another one) Underneath the one on the right reads "Retired April 17, 1979" Beside this is a pamphlet that discusses the history of Guelph's name and the official seal. The pages following contains a variety of items including; postcards, personal photographs, drawings, newspaper clippings, typed sheets, fashion articles, pictures from magazines, colour magazine articles, pamphlets, election ballots, Christmas cards, maps of Guelph, newsletters, church bulletins, telegrams, letters from royalty, letters from the Canadian government, letters from Vatican, historical articles, letters from Dr. Welf Heinrich Prinz von Hannover, commemorative napkins, event/play programmes, event tickets, invitations, mayoralty vote results, phone message, and special event menu.
Some of the types of subjects that can be found in the scrapbook are: Royalty, Canadian Constitutions, history of the city, downtown developments, life of PM Trudeau, Guelph Mayor Norm Jary, governmental issues, fashion, baby news, death of George Drew, Nixon's visit to China, sports (hockey), Lt. Col. John McCrae, McCrae bithplace, city strikes, Guelph's Sesquicentennial, No. 6167 Train Engine, etc.
