Description Handwritten letter in black ink with several signatures on the bottom. The letter is a declaration of the formation of the Communist Party of Canada. The letter reads:
"Guelph Aug 10/1920
To whoever finds this -,
This porch was erected during the summer of 1920 by Tom Marcroft and Frank Horn for Albert Farley we are enclosing a few papers so that you may see what was taking place at the time. At the present it looks as if we are fast approaching the climax of the Capitalist system, to be followed with hope by the Co-operative Commonwealth." The letter is then signed by several members of the Farley family as well as Tom Marcroft and Frank Horn.

The right side of the letter is badly damaged by mold and some parts of the letter have disintegrated.
