Description Green hardcover book with fabric cover. Illustration of two soldiers holding flags. Title and authors names are written in gold and are faded. The back has gold imprint insignia which reads, "The Story of South Africa". The spine and corners of the back cover are covered in black. Inside the book are articles pasted on pages. The articles are reviews and information about the book and it's subject matter.

The front cover has a flap extension that folds in towards the book. It has the title and names of the authors imprinted, as well as flags. Glued on the inner back cover is a black leatherette bookmark with the books title and authors names. The book contains many black and white photographs of war images, as well as colour illustrations.
