Description Book, hardcover. Front and back covers are covered with brown paper. On brown paper on cover is written in red pencil crayon "MODERN PATTERN DESIGN." Edges of pages have a reddish hue. Inside of front and back covers have the brown paper folded over them and held down with brown tape. Fist page has a clear sticker on the bottom left corner that has blue writing: "Sold by / CRAFT & TRADE BOOK CO. / Box 72, Station F / Toronto 5, Ont.". Top right corner there is "6.50" inscribed in pencil. Cover page has "Modern Pattern Design" "THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO THE / CREATION OF PATTERNS AS A MEANS / OF DESIGNING SMART WEARING APPAREL " "BY HARRIET PEPIN". Underneath this there is a line drawing of a woman holding fabric that is flowing from her upstretched arm. At the bottom: "New York and London: FUNK & WAGNALLS COMPANY". Contents include chapters on Pattern Designing, Slopers, Hip Length Patterns, Sleeve Patterns, Adapting Patterns, Capes Ties Neckwear and Scarves, Collars, Skirts, Slacks Shorts Culottes and Bathing Suits, Lingerie, Coats, and Children's Clothing.
