Description Storekeeper's License; Thin purple-blue piece of paper with black printing and black ink handwriting. The paper is a license to sell wines and spiritous liquors by retail for the town of Guelph. There is also an embossed seal on the left hand side with "The Town of Guelph Corporation". There is black ink handwriting on the reverse side "Store License 8th January 1862" . It is signed James Gough, Town Treasurer.
