Postcard from Guelph, Ontario to Brechin, Ontario, postmarked Jul 3 1918. Published by THE VALENTINE & SONS PUBLISHING CO. LTD. TORONTO AND MONTREAL "PRINTED IN GREAT BRITAIN". The front of the postcard features a view of St. James Church from Paisley showing the north side and front. It is a stone church with a tall tower at the front and arched windows. The image is captioned "ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH, GUELPH, ONT., CANADA" in red text printed along the top right. The message written on the back in black ink reads: "Minister here is Arch deacon McIntosh Guelph Ont. July 3rd/18. Dear J. You will see by the Cards you receive, how I have had my work all caught up and was actually living in the future, ha! ha! My train was on time, I took a taxi to my room 504. I had a royal welcome here. My back is not better yet. I felt very badly this time leaving Toronto. I will have to be very brave and not get home sick. Mother went to the car with me and Ive met Lena. I hope everything is O.K. at camp. The weather has improved a bit Mrs L." Addressed to "Mr. J.H.Pogson R.R. no 1 Brechin Ont. "Anglican Camps"", The postmark reads "Guelph, Ontario Jul 3 1918" at "10-am" and is stamped in black ink on the back. |
