|Title||Grand Lodge of Ontario Independent Order of Odd Fellows Certificate|
|Year Range from||1967.0|
|Year Range to||1967.0|
A certificate commemorating a member of the Grand Lodge of Ontario Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
It states: "This Souvenir, is issued by the Grande Lodge of Ontario to Bro. Robert Major whose signature appears in the margin hereof and who was admitted a member of Progress Lodge No. 158 at Guelph on the 2nd day of February 1967 and has received the Degree of Truth." It is then signed by A.C. Stirrett, the Grand Secretary, and Max Singer, the Grand Master. There is also a stamp of a beaver with an eye looking above. It says, "Friendship, Love and Truth. Grand Lodge of Ontario, Canada. I.O.O.F. Instituted July 21 1855."
All around the certificate is an intricate design with distinct pictures all along.
Starting at the top centre picture is of the Lodge Logo of an eye. Above the eye in elaborate font is "I.O.O.F." and below is "F.L.T."
The picture in the top right corner is of a crescent moon beside seven stars. Directly below that in the middle of the right there is what appears to be a Biblical picture. There is a man with a turban tending to a younger man, with a donkey.
Right below that picture at the bottom right corner is an illustration of a beehive that is swarmed by bees.
The bottom centre picture shows two angels either bowing to each other or praying, on a box that has some kind of lock. Right above the picture is an illustration of a beaver.
The bottom left picture is of Holy Bible lying open. The wording, in the book, is faint and faded.
Going upward, the picture in the centre on the left is portraying a Greek/Roman myth. In the picture there is a man running in the background. In the midground a man is pulling back a bow and arrow and at the foreground is a man's back facing the viewer and he is facing some rocks, or a cave. Possibly simultaneous narrative.
The last picture in the top left corner is of the globe but some of it is scratched and erased away.
The pictures that make up the border then also has a border of words that form some kind of motto. On the top "We Command You To Visit the Sick," to the right "Relieve the Distressed," on the bottom "Bury the Dead," on the left "And Educate the Orphan."
