Description Cream coloured paper with writing on the outside folded side. Unfolded it shows a map of the city of Guelph in black outlined drawing. Traced over some roads are red or blue lines. Writing on outside says; "Maps of the City of Guelph (underlined)/Showing Boundaries of/ Wards (underlined) and (??) Polling Sub Divisions (underlined)/ H.J.B. Leadlay (?)/City Clerk/ St. Patricks Ward (underlined) P.S. Div. 1.2.3 & 4/St. George's Ward (underlined) " 5.6.7 & 8/ St. John's Ward (underlined) " 9.10. & 11/St. David's Ward (underlined) " 12.13 & 14/ St. Andrews Ward (underlined) 15.16.17 & 18/ St. James' Ward (underlined) " 19.20.21 & 22"
Inside the map's Title reads "The City of /Guelph/ Wellington County/Ontario" There is a scale 600 feet to 1 inch. "Published by The Map Specialty Co., Toronto/Copyright Canada" "Chapple's Booksellers/Stationers/125 Wyndham St., Guelph." "Approved by/ City Engineer/ January 1939"
This is followed by and "Index to Streets" And "Index to Factories, etc." As well as a Legend for schools and churches shown.
Rectangular numbers have been pasted on to the map in various spots and positions. 1,3-14,16,19-21 some numbers are duplicated. Most of them are black, but there is one red 4 and 11 near the middle and top of the map respectively.
At each side of the city limits the maps names the next city in that direction.
At Water st. and Mary St. House No. 108 is listed as "Birthplace of Lt. Col. John McCrae" "1914-1918 In Flanders Fields the Poppies Blow" is written on a scroll with a poppy beside it.
