Postcard from the C.P.R. advising the Kloepfer Coal Co. that a shipment of Coke has arrived at the Guelph station. Off-white rectangular paper card with black and brown print, and pencil.
On the address side of the postcard is a sepia-toned image of the Montreal C.P.R. station, under which is printed in brown: "WINDSOR STATION / C.P.R. HEAD-OFFICES / MONTREAL, P.Q." In the upper right corner, the card is stamped with a green 2 cent Canada Postage stamp, bearing the image of King George V. The card is addressed in pencil to: "Memo Kloepfer Coal Co., / Guelph, Ont."
On the reverse side of the card is printed, and filled in with pencil: "FREIGHT ADVICE / CUSTOMS REPORT NO. / CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAY COMPANY / Guelph Station / July 23, 1926/ Pro. No. 2/807 /
The following described property has arrived at this station consigned to you in Car No. 14313 From Hamilton / Initials - P M or N / You will please remove goods without delay as same remain here entirely at owner's risk (from any cause whatever) and expense."
It is noted that the goods are "49,600 lbs. of Coke and that a freight charge of $24.80 is due.
In small print at the bottom: "If not removed within time limited by Car Service Rules, or Warehouse Storage Rules, charges will be assessed at current tariff rates, and such charges, together with freight charges, shall be a lien on the property. Bill of Lading or shipping receipt issued at point of shipment must also be surrendered. When to order, Bill of Lading must be endorsed.
If to be delivered to any other than consignee, please sign following order." The agent has signed his name in pencil. but cannot make out the name.
