Declaration of Gideon Hood who owned Lot 390 in Guelph. The declaration is folded in four and on one side reads "Declaration Gideon Hood Under the Canada evidence act 1893." he declaration has broken into two pieces
When the Declaration is opened up the other side has a handwritten declaration by Mr. Hood that reads as follows:
"Dominion of Canada In the matter of Lot 390 in the Canada Company's Survey City of Guelph.
I Gideon Hood of the Township of Guelph in the County of Wellington, Farmer do solemnly declare that the above lot was conveyed to me by William Hood by deed dated 19th April S.S. 1853 and I have been the undisputed owner thereof and paid taxes therein from that date until I conveyed the same to Margaret Hall wife of John hall of the City of Guelph by deed dated the 2nd day of July S.S. 1872 and I myself and tenants had quiet undisputed and undisturbed possession thereof during said time."
The declaration is signed by Gideon at the bottom and witnessed by James Watt on the 30th of October, 1895
