Salvation Army Band Commission for Charles Pembleton, January 25, 1907. Rectangular off-white paper with black printed lettering. Black printed border 1.5 cm. from the paper's edge. In upper left corner is the Salvation Army's coat of arms with "BLOOD AND FIRE" printed under the crown. Printed at the top: "The Salvation Army / TERRITORIAL HEADQUARTERS, JAMES AND ALBERT STREETS, TORONTO, ONTARIO. / Band Member's Commission". Issued to Charles Pembleton of Guelph in the Province of Ontario.
Commission affirms that Pembleton "having signed Articles in due form, has been appointed a MEMBER OF THE BAND of the Guelph Corps of the Salvation Army, and is duly authorized and required to take his place, and play in accordance with ORDERS AND REGULATIONS."
"He is not authorized to play in any service to which he is not sent by his COMMANDING OFFICER for the time being, but when absent on leave, Commanding Officers are requested to give him place and duty with their Bands." Dated Jan 25, 1907 in Stratford Headquarters.
J.McLean has signed as witness. Under McLean's signature, Jno. W. Hay has signed his name to affirm that Pembleton's membership has been renewed, dated Jan.1, 1909.
Reverse side is stamped with several renewals dated from 1910 to 1934.
