Description Booklet, "History of Medicine in Guelph" by Dr. Lawrence Leggett. Written in 1959 but this booklet is a July 1980 reprint of the 1959 edition, courtesy of 77 Westmount Limited / Westmount Medical Centre. Cover is thick blue paper with black typewritten letters. Book is typewritten, black ink on white pages. Book is stapled together.
This monograph is 13 pages and tells the story of medicine, epidemics, and doctors who practiced in Guelph from 1824 to the 1950s. In terms of doctors, the emphasis is given to those practising prior to 1875. There are six sections: "Formative Years; Early Physicians; Epidemics that have Struck Guelph Since its Conception; Hospitals of Guelph; Doctors who Settled in Guelph after World War I; Doctors Who Served in World War II from Guelph."
