Salvation Army Band Member's Commission for Charles Pembleton, Sept 23, 1910. Rectangular off-white paper with black and red printed lettering. Thin wavy black border is printed about 1.5 cm. from the paper's edge. In upper left corner is the Salvation Army logo with "BLOOD AND FIRE" printed under the Crown. Printed in red and black at the top: "The Salvation Army / TERRITORIAL HEADQUARTERS, JAMES AND ALBERT STREETS, TORONTO, ONTARIO / Band Member's Commission". Issued to Charles Pembleton of Guelph in the Province of Ontario.
Commission affirms that Charles Pembleton has "been appointed a Member of the Band of the Guelph Corps of the Salvation Army, and is duly authorized and required to take his place, and play in accordance with ORDERS AND REGULATIONS. // He is not authorized to play in any service to which he is not sent by his COMMANDING OFFICER - for the time being, but when absent on leave, Commanding Officers are requested to give him place and duty with their Bands....." Dated Sept. 23rd, 1910 and witnessed by ? Green / Headquarters Hamilton. under this is a Note, which states that if for any reason, a bandsman should "cease to carry out the duties of this appointment, or should from any cause resign his Office, he should IMMEDIATELY return his COMMISSION direct to the Divisional Headquarters.
Reverse side is stamped with several renewals dated from 1914 to 1946.
