Bill from the Water Works Department, City of Guelph to W.H. Saunders. Dated March 31, 1900. Contains information on bill number, date, amount due, pay period date etc. Information filled in with handwritten black ink. "Received Payment. City Treasurer, GUELPH." stamped in red onto bill. Signature of treasurer and date, Apr.16 1900 are written under stamp. A small decorative, floral patterned border lines the right side of the bill. Two small holes are punched along the top of the bill.
"BRING THIS BILL WITH YOU.", "N.B.-The Corporation has power to collect all (word punched out) rates by distraint or otherwise, in the same (word punched out) as Municipal Taxes, as soon as they become due, which is quarterly, viz: On the 15th day of January, 15th day of April, 15th day of July, and the 15th day of October, in each year.", "WATER WORKS DEPARTMENT", "No. 1578", "GUELPH, March 31st, 1900.", " Mr. W.H. Positively Discount will not be allowed after the said 15th and on the 1st of the following month the water will be turned off until all arrears are paid, an $1.00 fine for turning off and on the water.
