Guelph Water Works Bill issued to Mr. E. Rive, 51 Kirkland Street, on July 1, 1910. Off-white rectangular paper with red and black print on front and black print on reverse side. Front is the water bill issued to Mr. Rive by the Guelph Water Works Office at City Hall. Dated July 1, 1910. Charged Mr. Rive $8.00 for water use at 51 Kirkland St. "from 15th July to 15th January, 1911." Received a 40% discount of "3.20," leaving a balance of $4.80 which was paid June 25, 1910. Green stamp at bottom: "Received Payment / Jun 25 1910 / Guelph Water Commissioner, J.J. Hackney".
Reverse side, printed in red is a list of "Annual Rates for Water." Under this, it is noted that a "40% discount is allowed off rates paid on or before 15th day of month in which they become due."
At the bottom of the reverse side is an "Extract from By-Laws, Clause 7" which addresses issue of non-payment of rates.
