Description Handwritten letter in black ink on white paper with Firth & Sons letterhead from A.T. Firth of Firth & Sons Brussels & Tapestry Carpet & Blanket Manufacturers, England, to Major B.H. Tobey of H.B. Claflin Co. New York. Letter of introduction for C. H. Gethin. This letter is written from Clifton Mills, Brighouse in England and is dated: "26 Oct. 1895". In black ink, it reads:
"Dear Mj. Tobey,
This serves to introduce to you the bearer Mr. C. H. Gethin who has been with us nearly 16 years as Brussels colorist ? manager. He is leaving us to seek a situation in the States.
I wish him to know you as possibly you may be of use to one another later, & if you can be of any service to him I shall be much obliged. I am, dear Major, Yours very truly, A. T. Firth."
