Description Book, hardcover with black faux leather cover. Edges of pages are speckled blue. On cover is stamped the symbol for the Caxton Publishing company, consisting of a square with a checkered pattern inside it, "Caxton 1474" on a banner across the top, and a man with a moustache wearing a headdress. There is also a single thin-line border around the outside of the cover. The writing on the spine is stamped in gold colouring. "THE / MODERN / TAILOR / OUTFITTER / AND / CLOTHIER" with three line border above and below it. "VOL. I" is written near the centre of the spine of the book, and has a line that is free of bumps that runs horizontally across the spine. At the bottom "CAXTON" is written with three line borders above and below it. There is no stamping/printing on the back. Cover page has "THE MODERN TAILOR / OUTFITTER AND / CLOTHIER" written at the top, with "New and Revised Edition" written underneath it. "Edited by A. A. Whife". Rest of page has qualifications of the editor, the qualifications of the previous editor, and publishing information. Also has the symbol for the Caxton Publishing company. Opposite page has black and white glossy photograph of a man wearing a hat, three piece suit and capri-style pants. He is holding a paper and looking at the camera. Caption beneath reads: "A. D. (BOBBY) LOCKE. / South African Open Golf Champion 1935, 1937, 1938, 1939, 1946. Wearing his / specially selected design in SPORTEX.".
