Description Race Card for Guelph Turf Club Fall Races at the Guelph Race Track, September 23-24, 1890. White rectangular card with black printed lettering, border and illustration. Has single fold to form a booklet. The front has a sketch of two horses heads with harnesses and bits.
Has elaborate border within which is printed:
"Guelph Turf Club / Fall Races / Guelph Race Track / September 23 & 24, 1890. / $1050 in prizes. / Geo. Sleeman, Pres. Wm. Bell, Vice. Pres. / J.H. Reed, Secy. Treas. / Hough, Printer, Guelph".
Centre of Card is a score card for two races that take place on the first day, Tuesday, Sept. 23. The first race is the "3 Minute Trot - $125" in which 3 horses are competing. Each horse is listed by name and described by "Color, Sex, Pedigree, his or her owner and the colours." The second race is the "2.37 Trot $175" in which three horses are running. There is a note that the "Dominion Handicap Running" did not fill.
At the bottom of the centre is a note that there would be an exhibition by Professor Cromwell "On Tight Rope to-night from top of Commercial Hotel to top of Jimmie Johnson's European Hotel; also Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights at the same place.
Back of card has two advertisements: one for Professor Cromwell, "the Champion Tight Rope Walker of the World," and Silver Creek Brewery.
