Description Large Bible. The spine and both front and back covers are very thick and heavy. The front cover is partially raised. The centre of it is indented in a flower shape. It has "HOLY BIBLE" embossed in gold with an ecclesiastical logo. The spine also ha gold printing and embossing. "Holy Bible". It has gold designs, although they are fading. The back cover is of the same design as the front, though there is no writing inside the indent. The spine is coming apart from the pages on the inside. The first 34 pages of the Bible are missing. The books and the indices make up 848 pages and are followed by another approx. 200 pages of additions including "a profusely illustrated pronouncing dictionary of the Bible, a history of the books of the Bible, a history of all religious sects, biographies of eminent Bible characters, a history of the coins of the Bible and many other valuable aids and elegant embellishments. (inside first page). At the back there are pages allotted for family portraits. There are illustrations and plates throughout the Bible, both colour and black and white. The Bible was published by J.W. Lyon Publishers.
