Description Advertising Card or Penny Postcard to solicit business from Kloepfer Coal Company. Green print and black typewritten print on off-white rectangular cardboard. In the upper right corner of address side is a green one cent U.S. postage stamp with the profile image of Thomas Jefferson. The postcard advertisement is addressed in typed letters to: "Kloepfer Coal Co. / Guelph, Ont. Canada." Above the address is printed in green: "THIS SIDE OF CARDS FOR ADDRESS." The postcard has been stamped twice on this side. The first stamp is in the upper right corner on top of the green postage stamp: "REGISTER OR INSURE VALUABLE MAIL." The second is to the left of this stamp and reads: "NEW YORK, N.Y. ST. P. /MAY 11 / 12 -M / 1923."
On the reverse side of the postcard is a typewritten message:
"STRICTLY FRESH-MINED / ANTHRACITE / WE OFFER, SUBJECT TO PRIOR SALE / 1 Car each - Egg, Stove, & Chestnut ....$11.00 /
and 1 Car Buckwheat #1 .........$3.75 / or in same proportion - 1 Car Buckwheat / to each 3 cars prepared sizes. / All per gross ton. F.O.B. cars mines. / IMMEDIATE SHIPMENT / Terms - Sight -draft attached to bill lading. / Write or wire / C.W. COLVILLE CORPORATION / Bowling Green 4085-4086 25 Broadway, N.Y.C."
