Statement, or Bill, off-white paper with black print, made out to Mr. Edward Thomas, dated "Dec. 1, 1866."
Statement reads " Bought of Geo. Howard & Jones (Jones is crossed out with an ink line), Dealers in Stoves of Plain and Japanned Tinware. & c." In the upper printed corner is a printed advertisement which reads: "Eave Troughs and Conducting Pipes, iron pumps, lead pipes, & c. / Plumbing Done To Order."
The bill is then divided by two horizontal red lines with a blue line between them. Printed along this line on the right hand side is: "Advertiser Print, Guelph. C.W." Below this line are five columns of various widths. In these columns are listed the two items of purchase and the balance of &20.00 Mr. Thomas owes to Mr. Howard.
Below is written that Howard received the sum of ten dollars on Dec. 21, 1867, and on Jan. 4th, Howard received the payment in full. Geo. Howard then signed his name to both sums received.
