Rectangular brown cardboard postcard. On one side is "Field Service Post Card" with a coat arms in the centre. Below this is an address. To the left are instructions to only write the address or the card will be destroyed. On the reverse there are a list of statements (ex. I am quite well) from which a soldier could choose, and could cross out those which did not apply. If the soldier added anything other than the date and his signature, the card would be destroyed.
