Letter of proposal to Jane Kendall from J. L. Bennington, Junior, March 14, 1840. The letter is written on cream coloured paper that has been folded in half. The letter is two pages in length. On the back of the letter is the address of Jane Kendal along with a postage mark. Jane did not accept the proposal but married William Hoskin in 1840 and emigrated to Guelph, Ontario. On the back of the letter is the address of Jane Kendall on Mary Street, Hampsted Road, along with an English postage mark. Jane did not accept the proposal but married William Hosken in 1840 and emigrated to Guelph, Ontario. In grey thread "son and daughter of George and Sarah Kendall married July 21st in the year 1801".
