Certificate for Purchase of Land, dated May 17, 1890. The certificate is to represent that John Kennedy purchased lot #19 and 20 on Waterloo Avenue and lot # 38, 39, 44, 45, on Webster Street. The purchase cost $28.18. George Sleeman was mayor at this time. At the top the words, "City of Guelph" are written in a large bold font. The font is mostly typed font, though the names, dates, and specifics are added in with red, and black ink. The first couple of letters in each paragraph are in a different font and are slightly larger. Near the bottom there are multiple dotted lines to add in the specific details of the land bought. A deed of land for a property in Mitchell Survey. The deed indicates that the property belonged to Sarah Sleeman and is selling it to the Guelph General Hospital for $103.00. The deed is folded into a pamphlet. The front of the document is dated August 16th, 1916. The inside of the deed contains details about the property, the arrangement between the grantors and grantees, and their signatures. The numbers 0046-02 are handwritten in pencil at the top of the deed. These numbers represent the old catalogue numbers used by the Guelph General Hospital School of Nursing.
