Browned Rectangular certificate with an ornate black ink border of leaves. At each corner and along border there are pictures. Greek men and women performing different tasks: painting, dancing, drinking, acting, athletics, music, sailing, and reading. There are four smaller photos of symbol representing art, science, music and knowledge. The diploma was awarded to herbert E. Pass on Dec. 18, 1886. In the lower proper left corner there is a round red seal. "HERBERT E. PASS, THIS 18TH DECEMBER 6, S. DUTTON, M. MACCORMICK, HUGH MACMILLAN, L.L. MCPHATTER, M.D., L.S. MURPHY"

Cream coloured newspaper with black print. The Guelph Weekly Mercury, January 1, 1914. There is no huge headline but some of the front page stories are :"Eight will hav to be left at home" "Hood and Benallick Moving Today" "Christmas At The Children's Shelter Was A Great Event - Friends Had Given Freely". The paper has a photo of a ploughing scene in late December in Alberta. The paper is six pages (three double sided).

Brown soft cover GCVI 1928 Yearbook. The book has an irridescent title "Acta Nostra GCVI Hic Patet Ingeniis Campus". At the bottom centre is "1928 published by the students of the Guelph Collegiate-Vocational Institute" in green. The book is filled with stories, anecdotes and black and white photos and illustrations. The book also has ads from many area merchants. The book is 132 pages long.

Second Annual Circular and Catalogue of the Guelph Business College. The booklet has a blue cover with gold print and an illustration of a beaver at the bottom below a French motto "Les Affaires font les hommes" which translates to Business makes the man. The inside front cover has index of the contents. The catalogue contains an announcement from the principal, Malcolm MacCormick, a listing of the faculty, the location, the rates of tuition, the value of a business education, special attractions of Guelph, the course of study, general information, testimonials, and a catalogue of students. (25 pages in catalogue)

The book is staple bound and is 40 pages in length. On the covers and throughout are ads from different businesses. The directory covers Guelph (pages 13 - 21), Puslinch, Rockwood, Elora, Fergus, Arthur, Ariss, Alma, Erin, Hillsburgh and belwood.
