The hives are a few feet tall. The group consists of mostly men; however, there are a few women. The men are dressed in suits or a shirt with a tie and the women are in full length skirts and long sleeved blouses. They are all wearing beekeeping hats and nets on their faces. There is a small white shed on the left. The photograph is believed to be taken at the Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) because of the plots in the background. On the reverse it says: "Beekeeping - extracting honey,c. 1905."
