|Year Range from||1860|
|Year Range to||1870|
Sepia toned photograph adhered to a cream coloured mount with square corners. It is a full length studio portrait of two women, one sitting on a chair, one sitting on the floor. Both have centre parted hair drawn back above the ears. The fitted bodice is buttoned at centre front, dropped shoulders and full sleeves fitted to the wrist. The skirt is full and at the bottom is a trim of dark flat braid in a geometric pattern which is repeated at the shoulder. A wide dark belt is fastened with a metal buckle. The braid is also applied on a narrow stand-up collar which is fastened with a brooch. The woman seated on the floor is wearing a light coloured blouse, similar in style to the other, but without the braid trim. With it she is wearing a full dark skirt.
