Description This is the second New Globe Automatic School Desk manufactured by The Globe Furniture Company in Waterloo, Ontario. There are two desks and two chairs. In a school setting another set of two plus a rear seat would be placed behind the last attached desk and a desk placed in front of the first chair. 5 rows of desk was standard for classrooms. The desk is made of wood and metal. Underneath the desk there is the manufacturer's logo of a globe with decorative ribbon in metal with "GLOBE." Underneath the logo there is "WATERLOO ON" and further down the leg there is a "1" which could refer to the model number. The chair portion of the desk is adjustable and can be put down or up. The legs are attached to a sleigh like piece of wood. The desk has a hole for pencils and a small intentional indent to rest a pencil being used. All surfaces of the desks and seats are scratched and the underneath of the desks are full of pencil scribbles.
