Description |
Black and white photograph of the interior of the Telephone Exchange on Cork Street. There are 12 women seated around the perimeter of the room, and one standing, at switchboards. The stations are numbered, made of wood. There are two women seated at a table in the centre of the room,and a man standing beside the table. These two women have telephones with them. There is a wastepaper basket under the table. There are seven lights hanging from the ceiling and one ceiling fan. There are 4 windows in the room, above the wooden switchboards. There is a pole with a radiator beside it in the centre of the room, behind the standing man. Yellow post-it note on the back: "Guelph Operators at Work About 1918 in Telephone exchange located on Cork St. Manager Harry Black also appears in picture." |
