Postcard from Milton West, Ont. to Cookstown, Ont. Copyrighted. A.H. Cooper, Toronto. The front of the postcard features a black and white and rectangular image. Also on the card behind the image is a coloured painting of a maple leaf. The image is a view of St. George's Square showing the Tovell Building, Post Office, St. George's Church, east side of the Square, flower bed and Blacksmith Fountain in the centre of the Square. There are street cars on the road. The image is captioned "LAND OF THE MAPLE. THE GORE, GUELPH" "COPYRIGHTED A.H. COOPER, TORONTO" in black text printed along the left upper side. The back of the postcard indicates: "LAND OF THE MAPLE SERIES COPYRIGHT AGT TRADEMARK PRINTED IN CANADA". The message written on the back in black ink reads: "Aug 31/10 Dear Friend: Just a few lines to let you know I am still living. I guess you will wonder why I never wrote before but I have been so busy, the rest of the folks taking their holidays & it left me to work at nights which I don't like. Well this is me hoping to hear from you soon I remain Yours Truly Mary Hitchen" Addressed to "Mrs. W. Doles Cookstown Ont," The postmark reads "Milton West Ont." and is stamped in black ink on the back. |
