Statement; Handwritten in black ink on rectangular white paper. At top, is printed letterhead of business in black lettering. Below this is a ledger that is lined and divided into nine columns with red and blue printed lines. This ledger continues on the reverse side. Dated 2nd January 1849 and issued to A.J. Fergusson, Esq. from C.H. Webster. Letterhead: "GUELPH / BOUGHT OF C.H. Webster / CHEMIST & DRUGGIST, MARKET SQUARE." In upper left corner is printed among wavy black lines: "IMPORTER OF ENGLISH CHEMICALS, PATENT MEDICINES, PERFUMERY, STATIONERY, BRUSHES &c." Statement lists purchases (ie eye water, box of matches, scrubbery brush, Brown soap, etc)made from April 8 to Dec. 30, 1848 with a total balance due 2 L [pounds], 17 shilling and 5 pence." |
