Postcard from Bellville, Ont. to Guelph, Ont., postmarked Au 8 (19)13. Published by VALENTINE AND SONS PUBLISHING CO. TORONTO AND MONTREAL PRINTED IN GREAT BRITAIN The front of the postcard features a view of the junction of Woolwich and Cardigan Streets. Steps of bandstand in Trafalgar Square can be seen. There is a street car on Woolwich St. Delivery wagon - Alma Block on Cardigan Street. The date "Aug. 1913" is hand-written on the front of the postcard. The image is captioned "JUNCTION OF WOOLWICH AND CARDIGAN STREETS, GUELPH, ONT. CANADA" in red text printed along the top left. The message written on the back in black ink reads: "Friday noon. Dear Belle, I have been going to write all week but couldn't get time. Nina & Thomas were here for dinner Wed. May and I were down to Ann's place yesterday. My we had a splendid time and they are both so nice. It was Charlie's birthday. May and I are going up to see the folks at Aston next week. The reopening and anniversaries both on the 7th. When will you be home. Write soon. Ethel. Bring some rain with you." Addressed to "Miss Belle McLennan" The postmark reads "Bellville Ont. Au 8 (19)13" and is stamped in black ink on the back.. |
