Description |
A pamphlet page titled "Magna Carta Week" containing a copy of "In Flanders Fields" originally written by Lt.Col. John McCrae. The pamphlet was printed by The Colonel John McCrae Memorial Branch No. 257, T.V.S., Canadian Legion. The printing is dated June 12th to 19th, 1938. It begins with a statement from "H..R. ALLEY President, Ontario Command." It then has a line that reads "CHILDREN OF GUELPH - Hold high the Torch mentioned in this poem. 'THE TORCH OF DEMOCRACY'." Below this is a copy of McCrae's handwritten poem. At the bottom, there is a contextual description of the poem's composition and publishing. On the reverse of the page, written in pen: "Trading Post 824-2807" |
