Description |
Receipt for a one year newspaper subscription; rectangular white paper with black printed border and lettering. The receipt is addressed to A.J. Fergusson, Esq. and dated: "Advertiser Office, Guelph, 26th December 1845." The top part lists the printer's name and credentials. Under this is a description of the kinds of subscriptions to the Guelph & Galt Advertiser that are available and their cost. At the bottom of receipt is printed "1845. - To a Year's "Advertiser," ending 30th June, 1846." John Smith has written "Paid, Dec. 26th, 1845 10 s. [shillings] and has signed his name. "Advertiser Office, Guelph, 26th December 1845. / DR. TO JOHN SMITH, PRINTER, BOOKSELLER, GENERAL STATIONER, AND PUBLISHER OF THE GUELPH & GALT ADVERTISER." "The Guelph & Galt Advertiser is published every Friday Morning, and supplied on the following terms: Per Year, if paid within 6 months of the time of subscribing, ....10s 0 p. etc." |
