Program for the 1953 Victoria Skating Club Show "A Sailor on Leave". The program consists of numerous advertisements from various Guelph businesses, black and white images of various skaters from the club and multiple listings of the nights events with a list of participants. Front Cover: Red background with five gold stars scattered around the image of a figure skater. The figure skater is an illustration in white of a woman in mid jump with her legs spread in the air and her arms up. Front Inside Cover: Advertisements Page 1: "A Sailor on Leave presented by The Victoria Skating Club - Guelph, Ont. - 1953" across the top followed by a list of the various people involved in the organization and production of the show. Page 2: Three separate black and white photographs of unidentified people in a triangle shape. The top image is a bust portrait of a young boy. The bottom left image is a couple (man and woman) posing on skates and in costume. The bottom right image is a young girl in costume, on skates posing by herself. Page 3: "Programme A. In Central Park" separated into four parts including "Overture", "Sweetheart", "Boyfriend" and "A Pair of Poodles" with a listing of the performers for each and advertisements. Page 4: Two separate black and white photographs of unidentified people. The top image is of a young boy on skates and the bottom image is of a young girl on skates bent over with her one leg up in the air and arms stretched out. Page 5: "Programme A. In Central Park" continued. It is separated into six parts including "Children at Play", "Strolling in the Park", "Policeman", "Candy Vendor", "Organ Grinder" and "Together" ("Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Club" listed below) with a listing of the performers for each and advertisements. Page 6: A black and white photograph of an unidentified girl in mid jump with her legs and arms bent back. There is a set of either sparklers or ribbons in motion around her. Page 7: "Programme B. A Visit to Rockefeller Centre" separated into three parts including "Skating Rehearsal", "The Dance Session", and "The First Time" with a listing of the performers for each and advertisements. Page 8: Two separate black and white photographs of unidentified people. The top image is of a young girl on skates posing in a figure skating costume. The bottom image is of a couple (man and woman) posing on skates and in costume. Page 9: "Programme C. Everybody Loves A Sailor" with the performers listed, from "Brant Figure Skating Club - Brantford" below. "Programme D. Pair" with the performers listed, from "Hamilton Skating Club" below. "Programme E. Nurses Variety Show from 'South Pacific'" separated into two parts including "Sailors Three" and "The Marine" with a listing of the performers for each.
