Description |
The text and imagery of the certificate is centred on the cream coloured page. It is written in calligraphy with multiple illuminated initials as well as some filigree to fill in and create a border for the main body of text. The colours used are black, red, green, yellow, gold and blue. The text reads: Board of Light and Heat Commissioners Guelph Ontario, To Miss Frances Heeg, In appreciation of 50 years of Loyal and Conscientious Service to the Board of Light and Heat Commissioners of Guelph. Presented to Miss Heeg on the occasion of her retirement from active service on September 1, 1963. Mayor Ralph W. Smith, Commissioner A. J. Girdwood (?), Commissioner S. Brown, Commissioner A. Johnson (?), Commissioner R. E. Helmer, Chairman The certificate is in a wooden frame that has been painted a rusty brown colour. The back is covered with cardboard and brown paper tape around the edges and a wire hangs near the top. In the centre a picture of a woman standing in front of a large building (presumably Miss Frances Heeg, possibly in from of the Board of Light and Heat Commissioners of Guelph building) is taped to the back. A label is attached to the bottom right corner "O. W. Collier, Picture Framing - Cameras - Art Supplies, 86 Carden St. Guelph, TA. 2-2986". |
