Description |
Black and White postcard of the concrete arch in St. George's Square during the Centennial celebrations of 1927. The arch has writing on each pillar that says "Old Home Week Aug. 1-8" and across the arch it reads "1827 Guelph Centennial 1927" with a piece of bunting with the Guelph crest hanging down the centre. The arch sits over the street car island in the square and hanging from the wires are colourful banners and pennants. Wyndham street is entirely decorated in bunting and a banner hangs from a building saying "We are glad to greet you". Cars are parked along both sides of the street and people are milling about. The postcard has a divided back but the postcard has been cut down so some of the back and image are missing. On back: "Postcard Correspondence Address Made in Canada" In Pencil "elph Home Week 1927" |
