Postcard from Guelph, Ont. to Franksville, Wisconsin, postmarked Sept 4 1953 Published by The Photogelatine Engraving Co. Ltd. Toronto. The front of the postcard features a view of the Colonel John McCrae Memorial and gardens. The McCrae House (birthplace of John McCrae) is in background. It is a limestone building. The image is captioned "Colonel John McCrea Memorial, Guelph, Ont.--42." in black text printed along the lower left. The message written on the back in black ink reads: "Guelph.Ontario Sep 3-53 Dear Friend Here we are at my br-in-laws. We lived here for 18 years so have a number of old friends I trust you are both real well & crops as the Lord would have them. We go to Toronto-tomorrow. Love & Prayers. A.H.Stewart" Addressed to "Mrs J. & Arnold Petersen R2 Box 102 Franksville Wisconsin," The postmark reads "Guelph, Ont. Sep4 1953 8am" and is stamped in black ink on the back. |
