Invoice; rectangular beige coloured paper with black printed letterhead on top part. Addressed to Mr. Wm. Wilson and dated October 21st, 1884. Lower part is divided into eight columns by printed red and blue lines. In this ledger, in handwritten black ink are listed the various items and repairs purchased by the customer from January 7th to October 17th, 1884 to the amount of $5.13. Thain credited $3.25 to the account as it appears that Mr. Wilson gave Mr. Thain a pig as part payment. The remaining balance due was $1.88. At the bottom, C. Thain has written: "Please call and settle before Dec. 12th." And above this is written: "Dec. 18 - Paid in full C. Thain." Letterhead printed at top of invoice: "WAGON SHOP, CARDIGAN STREET, Guelph, Ont. / TO CHARLES THAIN, Dr. / Jobbing and Repairing Promptly Attended to. / Accounts rendered on the 22nd Oct and 22nd March of each year. Interest charged at the rate of 1 per cent, per month, after accounts are rendered. In the upper left corner printed in rectangular bordered space is printed: "C. THAIN, Manufacturer of IRON HARROWS, - PLOWS,- TURNIP DRILLS, Horse Hoes, & c. / First-Class Wagons / Light and Heavy. Lumber * Sleighs / IN THEIR SEASON. / Plough Shares and Castings always in stock." |
