Black and white aerial photograph of Downtown City of Guelph, circa 1945. The photograph was taken by Raeburn Reid of Reid Flying Service. The photograph shows Downtown Guelph, Wyndham Street in the middle of the photograph running North through St. George's Square in the centre, and ending on Woolwich Street which runs to the Left, junctions with Norfolk Street, and goes North past First Baptist Church with tower on the Right side, to the top middle Left. Norfolk Street runs from the middle Left up to the junction with Woolwich Street. The Canadian National Railway runs from the Left bottom across to the Right Bottom of the frame. The Armoury is visible at the middle bottom below the Wyndham Bridge on the Left side of Huskinsson Street (Now Lower Wyndham Street) The Winter Fair Building, City Hall, City Hall Annex and the Canadian National Railway Station are visible above the railway tracks. The Speed River is on the Right side of the frame with Norwich Street Bridge, Eramosa Road Bridge and Heffernan Street Walking Bridge and St. George's Church visible. |
