This photograph features painted campaign sign for the 1964 United Way Campaign. The sign has a large thermometer to the right (not yet filled) with numbers along the side indicating the amount raised. To the left of the thermometer are the names of the organizations that the United Way supports. The sign reads: "Your United Appeal - Only You can help Target for '64 $163,680, Red Cross, Mental Health, Institute for Blind, Children's Aid, Boy Scouts, John Howard Soc., Navy League, St. John Ambulance, St. Joseph's Home, Salvation Army, V.O.N., YMCA-YWCA, Arthritis & Rheumatism Soc." The sign is standing in front of the Royal Bank, in St. George's Square. In the window of the building, on the second floor, the window is painted with 'Wellington Credit Corp. Ltd." |
