Black and white photograph of teh Guelph Street Railway crew changeover occuring in St. George's Square, circa 1900. The photograph is adhered to a dark grey mount, which was trimmed and remounted on white card. The photograph shows three streetcars parked in St. George's Square. 14 unidentified Guelph Street Railway employees stand in a rough line against a fence in the centre of the square, in front of the blacksmith fountain. The streets are covered in slushy snow. The post office building is centred in the background. The spire of St. George's Church is visible in the background on the right. Wires, posts and attenees supporting the streetcar system are prevelant in the image. White ink on the orginal mount captions this photograph as "Crew Change". |
