Black and white aerial photograph of the Guelph Stove Company factory, dated circa 1945. The photograph shows the Guelph Stove Company at the corner of Victoria Road, which runs from the top Left side to the middle Right side and York Road running from the bottom middle to the Right side middle. Kingsmill Avenue is the first street running diagonally from the Left middle to the bottom Right middle crossing over York Road. The next street running off York Road is Menzie Avenue, with Audrey Avenue next crossing over York Road and forming the entrance to the Guelph Stove Company. Lawrence Avenue runs off York Road to the right with Cremasco's Store and Post Office on the corner and the York Road Baptist church on the corner of York Road and Victoria Road. The Canadian National Railway tracks are running from the top Left across the frame to the top Right side and the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks are directly behind the Guelph Stove Company running from the Left side across Victoria Road to the Right side crossing over York Road. Simcoe Street, directly above the C.P.R. tracks, has houses and runs from the Left edge to Victoria Road where there are houses on the West side. The upper edge of the photograph is rural land beyond. Printed in pencil on the reverse: "Guelph Stove Co." and "Corner York & Victoria Rd." |
