.1-.13 are located in PS#18; .14-.15 are located in A#34 Marshall's Drug Store 1999.7.25.1-.12 photographs of Chalmers church addition- all black and white with white border and wavy edges. .1 Sep.57 Photograph of the concrete walls being built. The ground on the left side is much higher up than the ground on the right. .2 Sep 57 Concrete block walls being put up. There are wooden window frames in them. There is a Loblaws sign behind and cars a side the lot. .3 Sep.57 Again, concrete blocks. The wall is further along, above the window frames. .4 Sep 57 The wall is almost completed and steel roof supports are up .5 Jul 57 Before the wall went up. There are some concrete bricks up, about 9 high. .6 Jul 57 Before the ground was flattened. There are is a pile of blocks in the centre and mounds of stony dirt. The church is visible on the right. . 7 Jul 57 The side of the church, before construction began. .8 Jul 57 Some ceremony. There are many people dressed in robes. Two older women and a man are in the centre dressed up in nice clothes. .9 Jul 57 Same as above. The man is now holding a shovel and the choir on the right is singing. .10 DEC 57 Window or door of church is visible through scaffolding. There is a staircase on the right, beside/behind a wall. Sign on left .11 DEC 57 Stone wall with windows in it. Small wall in front of it, plywood, with a one-way sign, pointing left. Between is a conveyor belt going from the ground to the third storey, 2 boys are on it. .12 DEC 57 Stone wall partially completed. conveyor belt and plywood wall visible, concrete blocks inside the wall. .13 Negatives of .1-.12 They are large and square. They are in a yellow Kodak envelope. The front says "Anytime is Picture Time" and give instructions for getting extra prints and enlargements. The reverse states the same things, also with an advertisement for the Kodak duo-pak of film. [See Notes re three missing negatives.] .14 Invoice for film developing. White paper with blue printing. the invoice number "2668" is in red. The invoice is from Marshalls Drug store. It is dated July 17, 1958 in pencil, to Dr. Evans at 459 Woolwich. It cost 78 cents and Evans used his charge card to pay. .15 Envelope that the photos came in. Prices for enlargement copies are written on the back of the yellow envelope in dark brown print.The sticker to close the envelope is in the centre of the flap. It is red, has a photo of a white Christmas bulb advertising photo greeting cards. The front of the envelope has Marshalls Drug Store, address and phone. There are lots of brown squares and pencil writings. "Charges 79" is on the right in a big circle, 79 written in pencil. .7 " Rev.P-1", .8 "Sam-1" written in pencil on the back of the photos. .14 "July 17 8 Mrs. Evans 459 Woolwich Pictures 78 chge" written in pencil in the appropriate blanks. .15 back-blue ink scribbles in top left corner front-checkmark, three straight lines, Dr. Evans 620 1 79 Church Add' + Christmas Snap 1957 and an indiscernible word written in the appropriate spaces. |
