Description |
Digital image of the post office and customs building in St. George's Square. The building at this point is onoly the three storey building (including the mansard roof) but it has a tall lightning rod or weather vane coming out of the roof. In front of the building are two horse-drawn buggies and one horse drawn wagon. Part of the east side of Upper Wyndham St. is also visible and there are horse drawn vehicles along the side of the road. It appears that on one building a hoist has been set up on the roof with a large wood plank extending out from roof with a rope hanging down. Attached to the bottom of the rope is some kind of sign or piece of building material that will be hoisted up to one of the higher stories of the building. On the side of the original image was the name of the photographer - W. Marshall |
